As the founder of our gym, David is an experienced personal trainer and coach with over 14 years of expertise. As a West End resident for the past 8 years, he is passionate about introducing a new fitness community to this vibrant neighbourhood. From training clients with physical and development disabilities to coaching professional athletes, David has a diverse range of experience. His goal-oriented approach in both personal and group training sessions reflects his commitment to improving both physical and mental health. AIMEE DOHERTY

CO-FOUNDER & GENERAL MANAGER

As the co-founder and general manager of Denman Athletics, Aimee brings 15 years of expertise in psychology and behaviour change. Aimee’s holistic approach to health considers not only physical well-being but also mental, social, and nutritional needs. By assessing your behaviour and thought patterns, she helps redesign them to create lasting lifestyle changes that enhance your overall quality of life.

PERSONAL TRAINER & GROUP COACH

Allison is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer who has called the West End home for over 20 years. Her fitness journey began when she overcame a back injury through working with a personal trainer in order to heal and become stronger, which transformed her life and made fitness her passion. Allison believes in the power of nutrition and strength training for healthy aging, and she loves challenging and fun workout sessions. She works with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and is currently pursuing pre and post-natal certifications. When she’s not at the gym, Allison enjoys being in nature, cooking, and spending time with friends over coffee.

Niall

NIALL O'CONNOR

PERSONAL TRAINER & GROUP COACH

Niall is a knowledgeable personal trainer and group coach who brings expertise in sports science, physiology, and nutrition to Denman Athletics. His passion lies in helping people achieve their goals and gain confidence and happiness through improved fitness. Niall firmly believes that exercise is for everyone, regardless of their training history, and that the right workout routine exists for each individual. He emphasizes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of movement, and he enjoys coaching leg day and training deadlifts. When not training clients, Niall dedicates his time to qualifying for the Canadian National and World Championship handball competitions. (it’s like squash/racquetball but with no racquet)!

Darien

PERSONAL TRAINER & GROUP COACH

Darién is a fitness professional certified by National Academy of Sports Medicine. She’s also a Certified Nutritionist, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and Certified Health Coach. 

Her main goal is to empower clients to make truly life-altering behaviour changes that will improve their health and well-being for years to come. 

She loves helping and guiding her clients, of all ages and backgrounds, to create a practice that’s sustainable and fulfilling, through a combination of strength/functional training approaches.

She knows variety is the spice of life—both in and out of the gym.
