Conditioning Flow vs. Conditioning Engine: What’s the Difference?

At Denman Athletics, we have two types of conditioning sessions: Conditioning Flow and Conditioning Engine. Each one focuses on different ways to build fitness and challenge your body.

1️⃣ Conditioning Flow
This is a lower-intensity session where we work at a Zone 2 effort. It’s steady, manageable, and designed to improve endurance. You’ll be able to keep a consistent pace and build up your aerobic capacity, helping your body burn fat for fuel over time. Think of it as a long, steady push.

2️⃣ Conditioning Engine
This one’s all about pushing harder with higher-intensity intervals. You’ll be working above Zone 2, getting your heart rate up and improving your cardiovascular strength, power, and speed. It’s tough, but it helps you build a stronger engine for those intense efforts.

Both types are important, and together they make you a more well-rounded athlete. We wrapped up our last group conditioning session here at Denman Athletics, and we’re excited for what’s next. Let’s keep pushing!

What is Small Group Personal Training at Denman Athletics?

Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) at Denman Athletics is designed to give you structured, focused training that helps you achieve real progress. Here’s why it works:

🔑 Accountability: Training in a small group means you have both your coach and your training partners keeping you on track. It’s harder to skip when you know people are counting on you.

📅 Training Frequency: To see real progress, consistency is key. We recommend attending 3 SGPT sessions per week, paired with conditioning sessions to round out your program. This approach ensures you’re training frequently enough to build strength, improve fitness, and avoid plateaus.

🎯 Focused Sessions: Each SGPT session is built around your specific goals. With a maximum of 5 people in the group, our coaches can tailor the session to your needs while ensuring you stay focused and efficient.

⚖️ Balanced Programming: SGPT is designed to complement the other parts of your training. It’s strength-focused but integrates seamlessly with conditioning to keep you balanced, fit, and progressing toward your goals.
